It’s now been two and a half weeks since the cortisone and hyaluronic acid injection and the shoulder is much better. The range of motion is hugely improved and most (but not quite all) of the impingement has gone. The shoulder is still suffering from a slight subluxation although just in the last few days it is doing so less and less. In general I am starting to get more confident.
I was obviously worried about skiing on the shoulder, but this turned out to be OK . Physio wise I have taken things very easy and I think this has helped a lot as well. Less is definitely more. So as not to aggravate the shoulder I have been doing a series of static isometric exercises just to try to reingage the muscles. I am hoping that as the muscle strength and tone return the subluxation problem will go away.
Next consultant appointment is next Friday.
